In the period from 5th to 31st May 2025, SORS associates will conduct mapping and listing of households on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. In the selected enumeration areas, all facilities and all households living in that territory will be recorded. Special attention will be paid to households that have at least one child under the age of five.
Branko Josipović, Acting Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, participated in the session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth, which was held today at the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Based on statistical and other current indicators, the Council analyzes the results of all branches of the economy every month and continuously works on measures that affect GDP growth.
The total number of passenger road motor vehicles that entered the Republic of Serbia in the first quarter 2025 increased by 3.9%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of vehicles registered in our country increased by 6.1%, while the number of vehicles registered abroad increased by 2.0%. Among foreign vehicles, the largest number was registered in Germany, 6.2%, Austria, 4.2%, and Hungary, 3.7%.
Total damages in state forests of the Republic of Serbia in 2024, expressed in timber volume, amounted to 181 544 m3, out of which, about 37 600 m3 were damages caused by man.
Out of the total number of first time registered road motor vehicles and trailers in the first quarter of 2025, produced in 2025, relative to the total number of registered vehicles, buses are the most frequent (38.6%), while the smallest share goes to special purpose vehicles (2.6%).
According to the preliminary data, operating income in non-financial business economy in the Republic of Serbia in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 6% relative to the same period of the previous year. In the Information and Communication Sector operating income were increased by 8.7% relative to the same period of the previous year.
In 2024, 4 026 million m3 of water was used in the industry sections, presenting the increase of 0.2%, compared to 2023.
From a total of 4 026 million m3 of water abstracted in the industry sections, 99.6% included water from own abstraction (98.7% surface water, 0.9% groundwater), and 0.4% from public water supply system.
Total value of sale and purchase of agricultural, forestry and fishing products in the Republic of Serbia in the first quarter 2025, relative to the same period 2024, decreased by 7.5% at current prices and decreased by 2.6% at constant prices.
